"4 Stars to overall modernity!"

For 5 stars would need complete modernization. Pricing more on the expensive side, but a great experience. We had a great time! Uwe

Children:- This is an amazing place. I love the garden and the sofa outside- Very comfortable  - But the TV may be a bit small to watch DVD’s on, But I like the bedrooms!!     Ida xxx

Outside the swings are real fun and the toys. The BBQ is real nice and it makes good food. Inside the sofas are very comfortable. May be the TV is a bit too small, but ‘I LOVED IT!!!’        -Flora       Thank you!!!!

"A lovely, spacious place to stay"

The children were allowed to roam free with a lovely selection of garden toys. Thank you to Maggie & family for the kindness and hospitality. It was an altogether wonderful experience.

(It was fabulous and exceeded our expectations.)

"Fabulous!"

Well it certainly lived up to its name. Maggie and her family were welcoming, but not intrusive and we made full use of our meadow. Lots of super places nearby - enjoyed a stroll at Rye Nature Reserve and spent a sunny afternoon at Smallhythe Place (National Trust.) Even paddled in the sea at Hastings. So glad we discovered this oasis.

Thank you.

(Website gave us high expectations and our stay exceeded them.)

“Private meadow all to ourselves”

We stayed at the Sanctuary for two nights in April. Owner Maggie was there to greet us on arrival to explain how everything worked and make sure we had everything we needed. The wonderful private meadow is for guests' exclusive use, including outdoor 'lounge' area, which Maggie prepared with cushions, blanket and flowers each day, taking care to remove them when it rained. Inside everything was spotless with all bedding and plenty of fluffy towels provided. Deceptively spacious with three separate, private bedrooms (double and two singles) and an easy-to-convert sofa bed in the lounge. Built-in wraparound sofa provided loads of room for two adults and four kids to comfortably watch a DVD, which we did both evenings. Kitchen well-equipped, including oven and microwave; heating system is on a thermostat and there's also a gas fire in the lounge, which kept everyone cosy; in the bathroom: a powerful shower and 'proper' toilet, just like home. Kids loved the assortment of tire swings, chickens and cats. Only drawback during our stay was the rain, for which Maggie apologized -- not her fault! A really great alternative to a pricier cottage and good value for money for a larger family or group -- there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We used the Sanctuary as the perfect base for exploring Hastings to the west and Camber Sands to the east, both a short drive away. Kids are already asking to go back.

In addition this is what Amelia had to say :-

'We all enjoyed a lovely time here. The Meadow was wonderful and the swings were great, I'm sure all felt comfortable sleeping. When it comes to television, they are always essential. Maggie gave us a good tour around the home and meadow. We enjoyed going over to the Chickens to see them. The Cats were good.' (Amelia Age 8.)  S, J, W D, K & A. London.
